Rev Chris Brown Print E-mail
The Christian life coach ministry was started by Rev Chris Brown who writes this about himself.

I was born in Plymouth, Devon on 7th May 1964. Born into a working class family meant finding the basics of life was always hard work. My parents worked long hours so we could afford some luxuries in life but most of the time we enjoyed simple holidays and had few material possessions.

Illness meant that my mother was not always up to looking after us all in the way she would have liked but we got by as a family.

I'm told that the people of Plymouth smile less that people in any other city in the UK (who does this research?). Well we were a happy family who made the most of life.

I left school at 16 (I was ready to have a little money in my pocket) and served an apprenticeship as a draughtsman for a steelwork company called Blight and White. At 18 I began to wonder about the greater depths that the universe offers and attended a local Methodist Church (there were girls there as well of course). It was there amongst the kind caring people that my eyes were opened to a wider spiritual world. I found faith and later offered to serve as a Methodist Minister.

After three years of training college I served as a local church Minister for ten years. Sadly I felt that the Methodist Church and myself were not truly compatibale so in 1999 I left to start a new life with my wife and family.

My family grew to four children (all lovely of course) and the opportunity came for me to train as a life coach. I took a course with Newcastle College who formed their course around the well know life coach Fiona Harrold.

I have now completed the Certificate and Diploma Course and have started my own life coaching practice.
I also have a diploma in Stress Management Training (with distinction) and am just finishing a diploma in Positive Impact (Performance) Coaching.

My methods are fairly simple but I believe very powerful. I don't resort to hypnotism or similar mind controlling methods but encourage my clients to take control of their lives for themselves.

I have an orthodox view of Christianity (that is I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and the creeds to be an accurate description of what faith in Jesus Christ means) but am convinced that the church needs to find a way to present its message to the wider world. I think too often the church has let the world down and formed itself into cliques that help no one. I think church should be an uplifiting experience for Christians (there are many churches where it isn't) and should offer a way for unchurched people to participate (for instance, relevant worship that fits their needs). That's enough of my preaching now. I wanted you to understand that I don't have any strange beliefs or practices.

So I have had a varied experience of life and use simple and wholesome techniques to help people get the best out of their own lives. You are welcome to join those I have already helped by contacting me.
